In the forex market why are there giant spikes in price sometimes even when theres no news at all?

I noticed that occurs during periods of silence, when the major markets are closed.

This is particularly true when a large institution makes a fast operation. Since the Forex market is so vast that it is almost impossible to predict these things. This could be a Japanese bank size average, or even the Federal Reserve. Just stay out of the market, while its happening (unless of course you tons of money in an open position).
